Coordinate transformations
Convert a reviewed point file using PROJ and the EPSG registry. Your coordinates stay on this device. Grid downloads contact PROJ’s data service and can reveal the region of interest.
Choose the exact datum, realization and units from your survey records. A matching name or a successful conversion does not prove survey accuracy. Keep the original file.
Quick walkthrough
What you need: The exact source and target coordinate references, job bounds, a CSV/TXT file headed id,x,y,z, and the observation epoch when the reference operation requires one.
- Search for the source and target references, enter bounds that contain the whole job, then choose Find operations.
- Review the listed operation and required grids. Load the point file and confirm its delimiter, decimal style, axis order and units.
- Transform the reviewed points, inspect the preview, then download both the points CSV and operation report.
Read the result: Keep the operation report with the transformed points. A completed conversion records the chosen operation; it does not certify the survey or local control.
1. References and coverage
Job bounds are longitude/latitude in decimal degrees east of Greenwich. They must contain every point and fit inside both reference systems’ coverage. Frame conversion uses the observation epoch; moving points to a different epoch requires a supported velocity model and is not offered here.
2. Point file
Use a header followed by id,x,y,z. X/Y mean longitude/latitude for geographic references, the selected operation’s displayed axis order for projected or geocentric references. Some systems use westing or southing; do not assume easting/northing. Geographic input and output always use decimal degrees east of Greenwich, even if the reference natively uses grads or another prime meridian. Convert native grad/DMS values first. Linear coordinates use the selected CRS’s units. Blank Z is allowed only in horizontal mode. Up to 10 MB and 50,000 points.
No thousands separators. The first row must be exactly id,x,y,z using your chosen delimiter.

Preview shows the first 20 points. The CSV includes all transformed points. Keep the operation report alongside it.
Operation and limitations
Local site-grid calibration
Fit a two-dimensional similarity from matching control points. Provide at least three fitting points enclosing the work and one independent check point. Coordinates outside that coverage are refused. This does not transform elevation or replace a national datum operation.
